Abrams Campaign Spent $450k+ on Private Security

Several weeks ago, we reported that Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams had direct ties to a “defund the police” group.

She later came out to try to pull the wool over voters’ eyes, saying that she believes we need to increase police funding.

That is, of course, all a smokescreen, as she has proven time and again where her loyalties lie.

Now, another report has surfaced showing how much money she has spent on private security, putting her atop the list of Democrats supporting the defund the police movement while at the same time spending pallets of money on private security.

Protection for Me, Not for Thee

Stacey Abrams can say what she wants, but the fact that she is on the board of a Seattle-based foundation that openly advocated for the outright abolishment of the police speaks far louder.

If we are going to abolish police and do unarmed community patrols, one would think those supporting the cause would risk going out in public without armed security to protect them.

That is not the case, however.

As we have seen with Rep. Cori Bush (R-MO), these politicians spend tens of thousands of dollars in private security out of their campaign and House budget money for private security.

In the case of Stacey Abrams, she has reportedly spent roughly $450,000 in private security over the last two years.

Abrams has made nine payments ranging from $39,335 to $56,760 to Atlanta-based security firm Executive Protection Agencies (EPA Security).

Additionally, the Fair Fight PAC, which is part of a network launched by Abrams, has spent a whopping $1.2 million with the same firm.

When Abrams was asked about her ties to the Seattle-based organization, she stated, I do not, and have never said, and have never supported defunding the police,” but that is not exactly the truth.

Abrams backed an anti-police initiative proposed by that foundation not long after she joined its board.

The initiative was called the “Answer the Uprising” campaign.

The organization has also sent funding to numerous other groups that support the defunding of the police.

Abrams has used semantics by calling her initiatives “reformation and transformation” of law enforcement.

In June 2020, Abrams stated, “We have to have a transformation of how we view the role of law enforcement, how we view the construct of public safety, and how we invest not only in the work that we need them to do to protect us but the work that we need to do to protect and build our communities.

“And that’s the conversation we’re having: We’ll use different language to describe it, but fundamentally we must have reformation and transformation.”

In another interview, she openly advocated for defunding the police, stating, “We have to reallocate resources, so, yes.

“If there is a moment where resources are so tight that we have to choose between whether we murder Black people or serve Black people, then absolutely: Our choice must be service.”

We note this because Abrams made a big move in Georgia polling after she came out to say she never advocated for the defunding of police and backs higher pay for police officers (of course, this happened after Governor Kemp made a statement supporting police).

This woman is a liar, plain and simple, saying anything she has to say to get elected.

It is eerily similar to statements recently made by Beto O’Rourke on taking guns, but we all saw how quickly he made his reversal after the Uvalde shooting.

Regardless of how people feel about Kemp, we simply cannot allow Democrats to get into the governor’s mansion in Georgia, specifically, Stacey Abrams.
