Once again, Joe Biden says it is not a problem, and we are supposed to believe it.
We are all getting crushed by high core prices and energy prices that are shooting through the roof.
Inflation posted at 9.1 percent this week, about a half point higher than was projected.
Yet, Biden says the number is “out of date,” and we are actually doing really well.
Out of Date
Biden’s statement on inflation read, “Inflation is our most pressing economic challenge.
“It is hitting almost every country in the world.
“It is little comfort to Americans to know that inflation is also high in Europe, and higher in many countries there than in America.
“But it is a reminder that all major economies are battling this COVID-related challenge, made worse by Putin’s unconscionable aggression.”
Biden went on to call the inflation rate “also out of date” because it factors in energy costs, as though we are not paying higher energy prices.
As usual, Joe is about as wrong as it gets.
He acts as though energy prices are not all that important, yet they take up a significant part of our monthly budgets.
Core CPI, which removes all of the volatile aspects of inflation, is also up 5.9 percent, compared to a two percent target by the Federal Reserve.
Unfortunately, those core items make up most of our budgets in the real world.
Gas is roughly three times what it was two years ago and for most of us, our core grocery list has risen by more than 200 percent over the last two years.
Speaking from my personal budget, I am paying almost $1,000 more for household expenses now than I was two years ago and the only thing that has changed is that Democrats are in charge.
RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel responded, “There is no end in sight for families struggling with their wages and livelihoods being wiped out by Bidenflation.
“Everyone feels the cost of Biden and Democrats’ reckless spending as Americans strain to afford gas and groceries.
“Voters know the best way to combat inflation is to vote out Democrats in November who rubberstamped Biden’s failed agenda.”
Sorry, Joe, but we are not doing good and you do not get to remove energy prices from inflation.
You created this mess, now fix it!
