The January 6 Select Committee has apparently decided to declare war on the Secret Service.

When agents disputed the testimony of Cassidy Hutchinson, the attacks started to discredit agents.

Now the committee is claiming that texts were purposely deleted by the Secret Service relevant to the investigation.

Delete It!

A report by the Homeland Security IG revealed that texts were deleted from January 5 and 6 on Secret Service devices.

The Secret Service said it did nothing wrong and texts were just a casualty of a device replacement program.

Members of the January 6 Committee do not seem so sure that is true.

Chairman Benny Thompson stated, “It’s concerning, obviously.

“If there’s a way we can reconstruct the texts or what have you, we will.”

The Secret Service has immediately pushed back on the insinuation.

Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi stated, “The insinuation that the Secret Service maliciously deleted text messages following a request is false.”

Guglielmi continued on that the device replacement program was already in place in January long before any requests were made for information.

He added that when the records were requested in February, none of the texts that had been requested “had been lost in the migration.”

Now, I know the Secret Service can get dicey at times in the lengths it will go to protect a president, but this seems to be a clear attempt by the committee to discredit the agency so that Hutchinson’s testimony holds up.
