The final vote on the ban on at least 45 specific AR-15 rifles Friday was 217 to 213.
That means that if only two from the winning side would have flipped, there would have been a tie.
Now here comes the sickening part:
Two Republicans voted IN FAVOR of the ban.
Representatives Chris Jacobs from New York and Brian Fitzgerald of Pennsylvania abandoned their party.
The bill had been proposed by Representative David Cicilline, who believes stabilizing braces make AR-pistols into an “automatic weapon.”
David is a Democrat from Rhode Island.
Jacobs and Fitzgerald should be ashamed of what they’ve done to Americans.
Only time will tell how effective the bill is. It could end up crippling the Second Amendment, or it could end up having little impact at all.
That’s on the legal side of things.
On the moral side of things, we already know everything we need to know about Chris Jacobs and Brian Fitzgerald.
