Just when you thought the Epstein storyline was dead…
Steven Hoffenberg, a longtime mentor for Jeffrey Epstein, has passed away.
His body was discovered during a wellness check at his Derby, CT, home.
Authorities stated that the body had been rotting for some time, but they have no reason to believe it was anyone other than Hoffenberg.
Disgraced
Much like Epstein, the once prominent businessman was disgraced.
He got caught running a massive Ponzi scheme through Towers Financial Corp.
In 1995, he pleaded guilty to charges related to the scheme and was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
In a 2018 lawsuit, investors cited Epstein as “knowingly and intentionally utilized funds he fraudulently diverted and obtained from this massive Ponzi scheme for his own personal use to support a lavish lifestyle.”
Hoffenberg is a former Trump Tower resident, also initially supporting Trump, but he withdrew that support during the 2016 campaign, which is a good thing for Trump.
He has enough problems without having his name attached to this man.
The house where Hoffenberg lived was a far cry from his former lavish lifestyle.
No cause of death has been announced and authorities are still unsure how long he had been dead inside the home before the body was discovered.
A Derby Police Department spokesman stated, “Every indication is that it is Mr. Hoffenberg.
“There’s nothing to suggest that it isn’t.
“We believe it’s him.
“We’re just waiting for dental records.”
They also reported there were no obvious signs of trauma or foul play.
