The powers that be in our scientific community continue to try to sell the narrative that COVID was a naturally born virus.
When the lab-leak theory initially broke, they all claimed it was nonsense… just another conspiracy theory from crazy Donald Trump and his insane supporters.
Well, while they were saying that, they were saying something completely different to each other in email exchanges.
It Always Comes Out
Some in our government have seen all the data that believe, without a doubt, this virus was the result of gain-of-function research at the Wuhan lab.
Of course, we will probably never get to the bottom of this because China will never fully cooperate.
Yet, when this theory was first proposed, the scientific community mocked everyone for saying simply because it started with Trump.
Behind the scenes, however, the scientific community was saying the same exact thing.
For instance, in Dr. Robert Garry from Tulane’s School of Medicine notes, he stated, “I really can’t think of a plausible natural scenario where you get from the bat virus … to nCoV where you insert exactly four amino acids 12 nucleotide that all have to be added at the exact same time to gain this function.”
Garry added, “I just can’t figure out how this gets accomplished in nature.
“Don’t mention a lab origin, as that will just add fuel to the conspiracists.”
All of their doubts on the virus’s origins started to wane when then-National Institutes of Health Director Francis Collins gave the order.
Collins wrote, “I am coming around to the view that a natural origin is more likely.
“But I share your view that a swift convening of experts in a confidence inspiring framework (WHO seems really the only option) is needed, or the voices of conspiracy will quickly dominate.”
All of a sudden, everyone’s confidence that this had been a manufactured virus went out the window.
The general belief here is that Collins and Fauci were worried about being tied to the research, so they needed to kill the idea that the United States would have been linked to this virus.
In March, only a month after Garry’s notes, Nature Medicine published an article that stated, “Our analysis clearly shows that [COVID] is not a laboratory construct or a purposefully manipulated virus.”
Not everyone bought into it, however, and Collins became more worried about the lab-leak theory, to which Fauci told him, “I would not do anything about this right now. It is a shiny object that will go away in time.”
Reading through the notes and correspondence, there was confidence that this was a manmade virus derived from research, not naturally from a mysterious bat.
Of course, this cannot be proven without the cooperation of the Chines and now it is probably too late.
The bottom line here is that there definitely seems to be a coverup of some sort to kill that theory simply because the right was pushing it.
Do you think the virus was naturally occurring or a product of the Wuhan lab?
