Another high-profile staffer for Kamala Harris has decided to exit.
The Vice Presidential National Security Adviser Nancy McEldowney has decided to call it quits.
Her deputy, Philip Gordon, has already been named as her replacement.
Time to Bail
It is amazing how many people who work for Kamala Harris suddenly realize they need to spend more time with their families.
McEldowney, upon submitting her resignation, used that very familiar excuse.
She stated, “This was a difficult decision because I am so deeply committed to the work we do and the crucial national interest we serve.
“But after more than a year, this is the right decision for my family.”
Her statement continued that she needs to “focus on some pressing personal matters.”
McEldowney has been a key adviser for virtually every failure of this administration.
She has been included in the Afghanistan withdrawal, the revival of the nuclear deal with Iran, and the Russian-Ukraine war.
The question is whether her advice was followed or not.
Regardless, with so many failures, it is no wonder she is stepping away rather than continuing to sink with this ship.
This resignation now brings the total of “former” Harris staffers to 10 since taking her oath of office.
The resignation announcement did not put an effective date on McEldowney’s departure, so it seems there will be time to transition Gordon into the job before she leaves.
