We obviously do not know how things will pan out in the Wyoming primary, but it is really starting to look sketchy for Rep. Cheney (R-WY).
We know Cheney is going to get big money from establishment donors as well as some Democrat donors.
When it comes to her fellow party members, however, Cheney is going to see little support.
Showing Out
While Cheney still has a few supporters in the Republican Party, that number has decreased significantly.
Harriet Hageman, her primary opponent, is now enjoying the lion’s share of support among noteworthy Republicans.
That was quite obvious during her recent fundraiser, where dozens of House Republicans showed up to support her.
It was not just your average House members, but party leadership as well, which is a big problem for Cheney.
All of these people will become surrogates for Hageman as this election gets closer, which means a lot to voters looking for these endorsements.
Who does Cheney have? Kinzinger, Pelosi, McConnell? All people conservative voters despise.
Maybe George Soros will show up to give her a boost.
Oh, by the way, the party was hosted by House Minority Leader McCarthy.
Cheney’s camp tried to make the best of this, stating, “Liz would like to thank Kevin McCarthy for anointing one of her opponents as the DC insider/establishment candidate in the race.”
I think they got that wrong… Hageman is far from being establishment in terms of how voters see her.
Cheney’s family is the very definition of establishment, and her father should have been in jail for what he did during the Bush administration.
We can only hope this support Hageman sees results in her ousting Cheney from office.
