With the flood of illegal immigrants coming into this country, we need to tighten up our election laws.
Arizona just made a big step in that direction.
Legislation was just passed that will require proof of citizenship prior to voting in a presidential election.
Activist Outrage
Before voting in the presidential election, voters must provide a driver’s license or tribal ID number, a copy of a birth certificate, passport, or naturalization documents as proof of citizenship.
They must also provide proof of address for residency in Arizona.
These seem like pretty reasonable requirements unless you are a leftist.
Jon Sherman, litigation director for the Fair Elections Center, stated, “Arizona’s way out on a limb here.
“The provisions in this bill are not really found anywhere in the country.”
State Rep. Jake Hoffman, who penned the legislation, stated, “Arizonans will not have to re-register to vote.
“It will be business as usual for 99.9% of Arizona voters.
“This only effects a very small percentage of total voters, and even then, we actually grandfathered in all of those individuals who are already registered to vote that have some form of proof of citizenship on file.”
