You win some, you lose some.
That is how Donald Trump is going to have to look at the situation in Georgia.
The latest Atlanta Journal-Constitution poll has delivered a little bit of both.
Good News First…
The good news for Trump is that his senate candidate is crushing it among GOP voters.
Herschel Walker is the overwhelming favorite to get the nod in the GOP primary.
It gets much tighter for the general election against Senator Warnock (D-GA), where the latest polls had them virtually neck-and-neck.
Walker has considerable baggage and has fibbed a bit on the trail, so it will be interesting to see how he recovers from the looming hits.
And Now the Bad News…
The bad news for Trump is that David Perdue is going backward instead of forward.
A whopping 53.3 percent of primary voters are behind Kemp, with Perdue only getting 26.8 percent.
Perdue is following Trump’s lead on pushing election integrity, but the message is not hitting home.
That and the fact he was beaten by a no-name candidate in the 2020 election, losing a red seat to a Democrat, does not bode well for Perdue.
Trump made a significant error in backing Perdue here, an establishment elitist who made millions by cutting jobs from the American workforce.
Add in the fact that Perdue has no personality, this pick was doomed to fail from the outset.
