As I have stated before, Ukraine is too important to allow it to fall into Russian hands again.
However, I have also stated that all NATO countries benefit from Ukraine holding fast, not just the United States.
Point being, why are we, once again, putting up the lion’s share of the aid to this country?
Here is an even better question.
Why are we borrowing money only to hand it over to someone else?
Does Not Make Sense
Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) stood up against the aid for this very reason.
He stated, “I think it’s important to know that we don’t have any money to send, we have to borrow money from China to send it to Ukraine.
“And I think most people kind of get that, and many Republicans will say that when it’s a new social program, but if it’s military aid to a country, they’re like we can borrow that, that’s a justified borrowing.”
You can hear his full interview below…
Paul was one of 11 Senators that voted against the aid, all of whom have been made out to be Russian sympathizers by Democrats, the media, and, yes, some Republicans.
This makes for great headlines for those who support it, but we are now putting our own country at risk.
Paul noted, “What we’ve done is given away the farm to make us weaker.”
The sad reality is that had Biden provided aid earlier to Ukraine, not as much would have been needed and this war would probably already be over.
Instead, it is not turning into yet another drain on taxpayers.
