Abbott Gets Lead Back in Texas Governor’s Race

Things were getting a little dicey for Texas Governor Greg Abbott after the Uvalde school shooting.

Beto O’Rourke exploited the shooting for all it was worth.

After initial polling, it seemed to work, as Beto had pulled to almost within the margin of error of Abbott.

Reality seems to have sunken in, as Abbott is almost back to a double-digit lead again.

Back on Top

Abbott has soared back up to 49 percent support.

O’Rourke got smacked back down to reality, only getting 41 percent support in this round of polling.

The CBS-YouGov Poll also had Abbott at a 46 percent approval rating, far from his best, but it will suffice for now.

Part of the reason his approval rating took a hit was because of the Uvalde shooting, where he scored a 55 percent disapproval rating.

Senators Cornyn and Cruz also got some bad news, polling at 35 and 42 percent, respectively.

Cruz had a tough fight against O’Rourke in his last election, so he better tighten up if he wants to get elected in the next round.

As far as Cornyn goes, I would love to see him primaried with some new blood and taken right out of the race.

He is pure establishment, and I despise establishment politicians.
