Democrats are doing everything in their power to try to link Trump to the events of January 6.
Right now, their entire narrative rests on Trump’s speech, but they are hoping to find something in the presidential archives that will show Trump and/or his camp organized the riot.
So far, they have come up empty, but that has not stopped Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) from continuing to spew rhetoric to promote a possible Trump indictment.
Prove It
Schiff expressed concern this week when asked about Trump being left “off the hook.”
The problem for Democrats is that they have no proof, none.
The January 6 Select Committee has generated more negative headlines than positive.
The most recent example is accusing a former police chief of helping to organize the riot when the man was not even within hundreds of miles of this alleged meeting.
Schiff, on the case against Trump, stated, “I am concerned about certain things. In particular, frankly, and this is not January 6 related specifically at least to the violence of that day, but I am concerned that there does not appear to be an investigation unless it’s being done very quietly by the Justice Department, of for example the former president on the phone with the Georgia secretary of state asking him, really demanding he find 11,780 votes that don’t exist.
“The precise number he would need to overturn Joe Biden’s victory in that state.
“I think, Dana, if you or I were on that call and recorded, we’d be under investigation, if not indictment by now, for a criminal effort to defraud the people of Georgia and the people of the country.
“That specifically, I’m concerned about. But I share the judge’s broad concern that those responsible for the violence that day in terms of organizing it have yet to be held to account.”
After that comment, Schiff said something that needs to be looked at by Republicans.
CNN anchor Dana Bash told Schiff that he needs to demand the DOJ get more aggressive against Trump, a demand that would be completely against the spirit of the DOJ acting independently of the White House.
Schiff responded, “We tried to hold the former president accountable through impeachment. That’s the remedy we have in Congress.
“We are trying to expose the full facts of the former president’s misconduct as well as those around him.
“It is certainly possible that what we reveal in our investigation will inform the Justice Department of other facts that they may not be aware of yet.
“So, we will pursue our role in this, which is to expose the malefactors to bring about legislation as a result of our investigation and protect the country.
“We will count on the Justice Department to play its role.”
My guess here is that role is now being dictated by Democrat leadership and the White House.
You best believe that Schiff will be on that list of House members on the Democrat side of the aisle that will possibly lose their committee assignments if and when Republicans regain control.
Schiff has been lying to the American people for the better part of five years, specifically on this collusion narrative, and he needs to be held accountable.
