For decades, we have all known that religious leaders in some communities have taken advantage of their roles within their “flocks.”
The cases of sexual assault against children by church leaders are sickening.
This weekend, another pastor came forward to admit his “mistake,” initially receiving a standing ovation from the congregation for his “brave” confession.
That, however, did not last long once his congregation learned the exact details of his actions.
That’s Not Adultery…
Pastor John Lowe II of the New Life Christian Church and World Outreach in Warsaw, IN, fessed up to his congregation on Sunday.
He stated, “I committed adultery. It was nearly 20 years ago. It continued far too long. It involved one person and there’s been no other… I have no defense. I committed the adultery.”
After giving up his confession to the congregation, they gave him a standing ovation, which is simply sickening.
The mood quickly changed when the woman with whom he had committed “adultery” came forward.
A woman came forward to speak, admitting that she was the woman with whom he had an affair.
However, she told the congregation she was only 16 when the first encounter took place.
She stated, “For 27 years I lived in a prison. It was not 20 years. I lived in a prison of lies and pain.
“Lying to protect the Lowe family. I thought I was a horrible person having suicidal thoughts, not realizing what had truly been done to me.”
She continued, “I am a prisoner no longer.
“I was just 16 when you took my virginity on your office floor. Do you remember that? I know you do…. You did things to my teenaged body that had never and should have never been done… You are not the victim here.”
Her husband then came forward, adding, “It’s not just adultery. It’s another level when it’s a teenager and I will not let this man talk about my wife like that. It happened for 9 years…. People have to be held accountable.
“They can’t just bamboozle people and say, ‘I just committed adultery.’ It was far beyond adultery.”
Lowe has resigned as the pastor of the church, but this man needs to be held accountable for this sick crime.
