Reports just came out of Florida of a horrible case of mistaken identity.
Sara-Michelle Trost was shot and killed while showing a home.
The alleged shooter thought Trost was the homeowner who had recently evicted him.
Mistaken Identity
Raymond Wesley Reese had recently been evicted and he was out for revenge.
Trost showed up at the building to show clients the home.
However, Reese mistook Trost for the homeowner rather than just the real estate agent.
A neighbor, Donna Smith, stated, “There was a disgruntled tenant who was evicted.”
When first responders arrived at the scene, they found Trost slumped over behind the wheel of her Jeep.
She had been shot multiple times, and paramedics could not save her life.
Reese has been booked without bond.
He is charged with first-degree murder.
Coral Springs Police stated, “At this time there are no additional suspects being sought, nor is there a threat to the community.”
Trost was a beloved member of her community and involved in local causes.
She volunteered at a local animal rescue and sanctuary, with her Facebook page being packed with posts from the shelter.
Rachel Lucuara of the Paw Patrol Animal Rescue & Sanctuary stated, “Our heart goes out to Sara Michelle, her daughter, her husband Jason, and her whole family, her fur children, as well as her human child.”
