Texas GOP Calls For Vote To Secede From America

The delegates of the Republican Party of Texas have made an amendment to their party platform that is sure to raise a few eyebrows.

According to the official Republican Party of Texas, they’re calling for a statewide vote.

To secede from America.

That’s right, Joe Biden has done such a miserable job at managing this nation that some states are starting to think they’d be better off without him.

When the idea of adding a plank to the party platform calling for a statewide vote on the idea of succession, many were skeptical that this was the correct way to go.

The delegates soon had their say though, with the plank receiving approximately 80% of the delegate votes cast at the June state convention.

The convention concluded on June 18, and the party just made the official amendment after tallying the votes.

Plank 225 reads:

“Texas Independence: We urge the Texas Legislature to pass bill in its next session requiring a referendum in the 2023 General Election for the people of Texas to determine whether or not the State of Texas should reassert its status as an independent nation.”
