Senator Diane Feinstein (D-CA) has been under attack ever since she hugged Senator Graham (R-S.C.) during SCOTUS confirmation hearings when Trump was president.
She has also made several statements recently that have Democrats turning on her very quickly.
Even Senator Schumer (D-N.Y.) has hinted it may be time for her to retire.
Now anonymous Democrats are saying her memory may be gone and she may not be fit to hold office.
Cowards
If Feinstein is having cognitive issues, this is not something that should be hidden.
She is one of the most powerful and influential senators in this country, so this is something that needs to be addressed if it is true.
Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t like Feinstein and I think she should have been retired a long time ago, but it is cowardly to make such accusations behind her back.
One Democrat Senator, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, stated, “I have worked with her for a long time and long enough to know what she was like just a few years ago: always in command, always in charge, on top of the details, basically couldn’t resist a conversation where she was driving some bill or some idea. All of that is gone.”
The lawmaker continued, “She was an intellectual and political force not that long ago, and that’s why my encounter with her was so jarring. Because there was just no trace of that.”
This is not something to be hidden, so I don’t really understand why a Senator would choose not to openly come forward with this information.
Senator Feinstein’s office responded, “The last year has been extremely painful and distracting for me, flying back and forth to visit my dying husband who passed just a few weeks ago.
“But there’s no question I’m still serving and delivering for the people of California, and I’ll put my record up against anyone’s.”
Feinstein has been serving in the Senate since 1992 and is currently 88 years old.
