Malyshev was a biathlete from Ukraine who lost his life in combat against Russian forces marching through Ukraine.

Iranian Athletes released an announcement demanding immediately sanctions against Russia.
“How many more lives need to be lost before sport implements meaningful sanctions?” they pled.

A number of Ukrainian athletes have joined the nation’s forces in the fight against Putin, completely willing to pay the ultimate price.
Malyshev was the third Ukrainian athlete to perish, following age 21 soccer player Vitalii Sapylo and 25-year-old soccer player Dmytro Martynenko.
