Yet another police officer has been ambushed and is fighting for her life.
The unnamed officer was ambushed while sitting in her patrol car.
She was approached from behind early Thursday morning and shot multiple times.
War on Cops
This shooting, sadly, is something we have seen play out repeatedly over the last couple of years.
The officer was merely sitting in her patrol car when someone snuck up behind her and opened fire.
According to Baltimore Police Commissioner Michael Harrison, she was shot multiple times by the assailant.
After the officer was shot, she hit the accelerator, then crashed.
When officers responded to the crash, they found her inside the vehicle with “life-threatening gunshot wounds.”
Harrison stated, “This was a cowardly, brazen act to walk up and open fire on a police officer who was doing what we asked that officer to do – to go out to protect and serve.”
Chief Harrison and Mayor Scott have met with the family of the officer, describing them as “who are, like us, obviously angry, confused, in search of answers, and have an expectation that we will find who did this and hold one or as many people responsible for this as possible.”
Mayor Scott has vowed the full resources of the city to find the shooter
Additionally, Governor Larry Hogan has promised to offer the assistance of the State Police in the investigation.
Police are asking anyone with any information to please reach out to help them track down this coward.
