William Barr has a new book out and he did not pull any punches against Trump.
The attorney general during the waning days of the Trump administration has openly encouraged the GOP to move away from Trump.
Yet, even so, Barr says that if Trump is nominated, he would more than likely support Trump in the election.
I have never liked Barr for one reason… he is a Bush disciple.
Barr’s most recent book slams Trump on numerous fronts, but the one that really stunned was Barr challenging Trump’s mental state in terms of running for office.
When Barr was asked about Trump running again, he stated, “I certainly have made it clear, I don’t think he should be our nominee and I’m going to, you know, support somebody else for the nomination.”
Barr then switched gears when asked what he would do if Trump did get the nomination.
He replied, “Because I believe that the greatest threat to the country is the progressive agenda being pushed by the Democratic Party, it’s inconceivable to me that I wouldn’t vote for the Republican nominee.”
Trump has responded to Barr’s book, blasting him as someone who broke to the left’s pressure.
He stated, “Bill Barr cares more about being accepted by the corrupt Washington Media and Elite than serving the American people.
“He was slow, lethargic, and I realized early on that he never had what it takes to make a great Attorney General.
“When the Radical Left Democrats threatened to hold him in contempt and even worse, to impeach him, he became virtually worthless to Law and Order and Election Integrity.
“They broke him just like a trainer breaks a horse.”
Trump concluded, “I would imagine that if the book is anything like him, it will be long, slow, and very boring.
“I made many great appointments during my Administration, and we accomplished more than most Administrations could even dream of, but Bill Barr was not one of my better picks.”
The fact that Barr served under Bush should have been a major warning sign, but Trump looked past it as he has done in other cases where the recommendations clearly came from establishment members, like Lindsey Graham and Mitch McConnell.
