Yesterday, Texas’ health commission announced that it would not be able to get any more monoclonal antibody treatments until next week.
The state ran out of Sotrovimab this week, but the treatment is now distributed by the federal government, so Texas has to wait for its next shipment.
Florida’s Surgeon General, Joseph Ladapo, however, says the government is also holding back other treatments.
Actively Preventing Treatment
Sotrovimab is the monoclonal antibody treatment that has been found most effective against the Omicron variant.
While most cases now showing up are from the Omicron variant, there are still Delta cases popping up.
That being said, there are two other monoclonal antibody treatments that are effective against Delta, but Ladapo says the Biden administration is “actively preventing the effective distribution of monoclonal antibody treatments.”
The administration has halted distribution of the treatments made by drug companies Regeneron and Eli Lilly.
So, Ladapo penned a letter to Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra demanding these shipments be released…
NEW: Florida Surgeon General says Biden Admin is "actively preventing" distribution of monoclonal antibodies by pausing shipments of Regeneron, in letter to HHS Sec.

Ironically enough, Becerra has been getting called out by members of Congress for being MIA for weeks now amid this new surge.
On Monday, Joe Biden told governors that there was no federal solution to the pandemic.
States needed to handle this at their level and ask the federal government for what it needed.
Well, Texas and Florida have now both asked… so let’s see what Joe does.
How would you rate Biden’s handling of the pandemic thus far?
