Biden Administration Set to Resume New Gas and Oil Leases on Federal Lands

With gas prices soaring out of control and no end in sight, Joe Biden finally had to cave to Republicans.

The administration has been trying to sell the fact that there are thousands of leases not in use.

That is not the exact truth, however, so Biden has no choice but to break a vow he made to the climate activists.

Biden is set to resume oil and gas leases on federal lands again.

Get to Drilling

The administration estimated that there are about 9,000 inactive leases right now.

What it failed to say is that in many cases, those leases are not being used because they are either dry or cannot produce enough product to make it a sound investment.

With Biden now trying to cripple the fossil fuel industry, that is even more so the case.

Since Biden took office, even though there was a court order mandating the sale of leases at least once a quarter, Biden has refused to auction them off.

On Friday, albeit far less land than is usually the case, the administration stated that it would resume auctioning off land leases again.

The entire right celebrated, as this is a true win-win situation.

Anne Bradbury, chief executive of the American Exploration and Production Council, stated, “While today’s announcement is a step in the right direction, to really unleash American energy the Biden administration should continue to hold ongoing lease sales pursuant to the Mineral Leasing Act, issue permits more expeditiously and provide consistent regulatory certainty.”

This will hurt Biden with progressive activists, costing him and Democrats votes, and it will also start to lower gas prices in the near future.

This is a dream situation for Republicans.

Even when Biden starts to tout the prices going down, Republicans can come right out to say the only reason this is happening is because of their relentless pressure on Biden to start issuing new land leases again.

This is a MONSTER win for the Republican Party.
