On the final day of the Afghanistan withdrawal, Biden’s people told us there were about 100 Americans that still wanted to get out.
Over the following week or so, about 100 people were taken out commercially.
Another 300 to 400 were taken out through private efforts.
Now the Biden administration is saying, you guessed it, about 100 people are still left behind.
The Real Number
When the number was first given, I challenged it right out of the gate.
Social media reports alone showed hundreds of Americans trying to get to the airport but could not.
They were either terrified or being blocked. Either way, they were abandoned.
A Biden official confirmed this week that “The biggest constraint to the departure of our citizens and others from Afghanistan, of course, remains the Taliban’s unpredictability, regarding who is permitted to depart.”
They also, once again, stated that there are about 100 Americans still trying to get out.
Here is what I think… the administration came up with the “100” number because they probably figured that would not cause any outrage.
Now, after roughly 500 Americans have been rescued or managed to get home commercially, that number has not budged.
I can’t help but wonder why the administration is not getting challenged on this number much harder, especially when we know their original estimation was nothing but lies.
In fact, that is all this administration has done… lie to the American people.
When do Biden and his top officials get held accountable? At this point, that is the only question we want answered.
