Biden Police Funding in Budget Derails Defund the Police Movement

On Monday, the White House released a new budget proposal.

The new budget included $32 billion for law enforcement spending.

I have little doubt progressives in the Democrat Party will take this lightly.

Two Problems

So, the first problem for Biden is the pushback that he will face from liberals in the party.

This is significant because it was the likes of AOC and her uber-progressive horde that helped Biden get elected in 2020.

Democrats and Biden will fall flat in the next two elections without their support.

The second problem is far more complex.

As conservatives, we are all for funding law enforcement, as long as that money actually goes toward law enforcement.

My biggest concern about this funding is that uber-progressive cities that have reallocated funding in the past will do the same this time around.

After George Floyd’s death, when the defund the police movement was at its height, cities all around the country reallocated funding to progressive pet programs.

If Biden wants to push this budget through, we need a transparent accounting of every city and state that receives this funding to ensure it is going where it belongs.
