Oh, you guys will need to sit down for this one…

The United States Department of Health and Human Services will no longer collect COVID death data from hospitals.

I guess that is Secretary Becerra’s response on better managing the pandemic.

Forget About It

The order was issued on January 6, to go into effect on February 2, only it was never really publicized by the HHS.

It is no surprise that this order goes into effect after Joe Biden surpassed Donald Trump for the number of reported COVID deaths.

Now, if any Republican were in office right now, we all know how this order would have been perceived.

There would be outrage all over the place regarding a coverup.

Keep in mind, Joe Biden has already stated that he wants to ask Congress for MORE COVID relief money, yet the deaths are not important enough to monitor?

Is this not dangerous in terms of seeing if new variants create an uptick in deaths?

Or, more likely, could it be that this administration is looking for a way to eliminate COVID deaths from the news cycle to ensure it does not hurt Democrats in the 2022 election cycle?

Alexis C. Madrigal, a co-founder of the COVID Tracking Project, disagrees with the new strategy.

He stated, “There was no hospital data at the federal level and even at many states.

“We had no idea who has capacity, who was in trouble, who had supply shortages, who was getting admissions so fast that they would need supplemental meds, who has staffing issues, etc.

“We also didn’t know anything about the people admitted in a timely manner, such as age.”

The problem with the way the numbers will be collected now is that the CDC can manipulate the data to pretty much say what they want it to say.

And yes, I know that sounds very conspiracy, but has this administration not proved it cannot be trusted?

A government official even hinted that is what will happen with this new computation method, stating, “The CDC has never really counted cases for things that a lot of people get like the flu.

“They get data from sentinel sites and then extrapolate what is happening.”

Translation… the new numbers will be a guess, or manipulated.

Again, just imagine the outrage that would be going on right now if this happened under a Republican administration.
