In July, a federal judge in Texas ruled that DACA had to be suspended.
The judge ruled that the program was unconstitutional from the outset, something many conservatives have believed from the outset.
So, once again, the Biden administration is openly admitting it will try to do an end-around the Constitution to put a similar version of the program back in play.
Illegals More Important Than Americans?
If only this administration worked as hard to get Americans out of Afghanistan as it works to keep illegals in this country.
I wish I could say we are surprised that coming up with a new version of DACA is at the top of the priority list for our Department of Homeland Security Secretary, but I am not.
This administration has proven time and again that, above all else, turning illegal immigration legal is what it is all about.
On this front, Secretary Mayorkas stated, “The Biden-Harris Administration continues to take action to protect Dreamers and recognize their contributions to this country.
“This notice of proposed rulemaking is an important step to achieve that goal. However, only Congress can provide permanent protection.
“I support the inclusion of immigration reform in the reconciliation bill and urge Congress to act swiftly to provide Dreamers the legal status they need and deserve.”
So, he admitted that the administration is trying to circumvent the Constitution and that it is going to include immigration in the “infrastructure” bill that Democrats want to use reconciliation to pass.
All Democrats are doing right now is reinforcing the need for the filibuster and possibly ending reconciliation for budgetary legislation altogether.
