Joe Biden promised to “work like the devil” to bring down gas prices.
Well, we’re a few weeks in.
It hasn’t worked.
As the national average of gas prices continues to set all-time records, Joe Biden thinks he’s found a way to bring gas prices down by $.35 per gallon.
Drill, baby, drill.
Biden went right after American oil companies and urged them to start producing more oil and even threatening to punish them if they didn’t respond.
He even went so far as to say the companies were “hoarding” federal oil leases. As a result, he announced a “use it or lose it” plan that would charge companies that failed to develop promised oil leases on federal land.
“They can put those profits to productive use by producing more oils, restarting idle wells, or producing on sites they are already leasing,” Biden claimed.
Biden begged oil executives to experience a “moment of patriotism” and serve customers first and shareholders second.
“Enough,” Biden said. “Enough of lavishing excessive profits on investors and payouts and buybacks when the American people are watching.”
“This is not the time to sit on record profits. It’s time to step up for the good of our country.”
Despite ALL of these demands, Biden did not address the regulatory and environmental burdens that have been the whole reason we haven’t been producing enough oil in the first place.
Instead, he just demanded we get off fossil fuels altogether, WHILE begging for more fossil fuels.
