It would appear as though the Democrat faithful are starting to lose faith in their savior.
Not even a year into Joe Biden’s first term, CNN is floating alternative candidates to run for president in 2024.
However, the list of possible replacements shows just how out-of-touch the network is with the reality of what is going on in this country right now.
Replacing Joe
CNN’s Chris Cillizza takes a look at several factors that could point toward Joe Biden stepping back in 2024.
Cillizza writes, “Combine President Joe Biden’s age (he’ll be 82 shortly after the 2024 election) and his ongoing political struggles (he’s mired in the low 40s in job approval) and you get this: a series of stories examining whether Biden runs again and, if not, who might take his place.”
The top two contenders appear to be Harris and Buttigieg, but they are also getting clobbered in the polls.
After that, Cillizza floats Stace Abrams, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper, former New Orleans mayor Mitch Landrieu, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, and New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy.
Not a single one of those names will get anyone excited about their chances of running against Donald Trump or Ron DeSantis, the two most likely candidates to rise from the GOP field.
Fox News’ Tucker Carlson absolutely obliterated the list.
In part, he stated, “It feels like some pothead intern at CNN just pulled up the Wikipedia entry for Democratic governors, and they copied their names into the story.
“That’s got to be what happened.
“How else did Gretchen Whitmer make the list? Come on now.”
