On Tuesday, Joe Biden traveled to Fort Worth, TX, to promote veteran benefits.
Three local representatives, two Democrats and one Republican, attended the event.
When Biden acknowledged them, let’s just say his comments did not really go over very well with anyone.
Really, Joe?
Biden really needs to stay with his script because every time the man goes off the cuff, he gets himself into trouble.
In attendance were Reps. Marc Veasey (D-TX), Colin Allred (D-TX), and Jake Ellzey (R-TX).
Biden was trying to be funny, but his joke fell more than flat.
Biden stated, “The three congressmen you have here, two of them look like they really could and did play ball and the other looks like he’d bomb you.
“It’s a tough group, but a good group.”
Those words were more or less interpreted as the two minority congressmen being the ballplayers and the conservative being a terrorist.
Biden would have been far better off referring to Allred’s NFL career and Ellzey’s two decades in the Navy directly, especially considering that he was a fighter pilot who completed tours in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Instead, his comments created outrage…
The context does not change the idiocy of Biden's comment. Black guys make good ball players in Joe's racist view. https://t.co/W1Kc2T40QB

I just… come on, man. https://t.co/EblaTWWd8Q

Biden will get away with it, however, simply because he is Joe, and he can apparently say whatever he wants.
Imagine if those words came out of the mouth of Trump, or any Republican for that matter, and the outrage that would have ensued in the media.
