Joe Biden knows he is riding in a sinking ship right now, so he is doing everything in his power to change the news cycle.
To that point, rather than face the media on Afghanistan, he instead chose to go after governors with anti-mask mandates in place.
On Wednesday, Biden gave his Secretary of Education the directive to go after states with anti-mask mandates, which sent many Americans right through the roof.
Priorities
Neither Governor DeSantis nor Abbott are telling parents their kids cannot wear masks, quite the opposite.
Both governors are merely saying it should be parents deciding if their kids wear a mask, not the federal government.
Biden needed something to deflect away from Afghanistan, however, so this is what he went after.
He stated, “Today, I am directing the Secretary of Education – an educator himself – to take additional steps to protect our children.
“This includes using all of his oversight authorities and legal actions, if appropriate, against governors who are trying to block and intimidate local school officials and educators.
“As I’ve said before, if you aren’t going to fight COVID-19, at least get out of the way of everyone else who is trying.
“We’re not going to sit by as governors try to block and intimidate educators protecting our children.”
This is nothing more than a deflection by Biden, and Governor DeSantis called him out on it.
DeSantis stated, “You have all the stuff going on with Afghanistan – obviously all the stuff at the southern border … one of the biggest border disasters in the history of our country, inflation, gas prices, and what does he do?
“He is obsessed with having the government force kindergartners to wear masks all day in school.
“In Florida, we believe that that’s the parents’ decision.
“Joe Biden thinks the federal government should come in and overrule the parents and force these young kids to wear these masks.”
DeSantis also challenged Joe Biden’s fitness as president.
He stated, “All of our adversaries are taking the measure of Joe Biden, and they see that this is not somebody who’s capable of leading with conviction and leading on the world stage.
“So they are going to do everything they can, as long as he’s president, to take advantage of that, and I think we’re in for a rocky three-and-a-half years as long as he’s president.”
Remember all those people that voted for Biden saying, “How much damage can he do in four years?”
Well, it’s been seven months, and look at the mess he has already created.
The sad reality is that even if Biden were to step down, Kamala-Who would be in office, which, believe it or not, could even be worse for the country and our allies than Joe Biden.
