Joe Biden says he is a practicing and devout Catholic.
Yet, at the same time, he supports ending the life of an unborn child, something he was against virtually his entire political career.
Biden is now trying to combine his rhetoric to support Roe v. Wade, and all he is doing is upsetting both sides of the aisle.
Wrong Words
As soon as you start talking about “child of God” and justifying abortion, you made a mistake.
Yet, that is exactly what Biden did this week in trying to support the codification of Roe v. Wade.
Biden stated, “This reminds me of the debate I had with Robert Bork.
“Bork believed the only reason you had any inherent rights is because the government gave them to you.”
Biden continued, “I said, ‘I believe the rights that I have, not because the government gave them to me, which you believe, but because I’m just a child of God, I exist.
“I delegated by joining this union, to delegate oblig– some rights I have to the government for social good.”
The right is upset because Joe Biden is trying to use religion to justify abortion and the left is upset because Joe Biden just made the argument for the right.
Here is the point…
Many Catholics believe that life begins at conception. The moment the egg is fertilized in the womb, it represents new life, a new “child of God,” if you will.
Catholics also believe life is sacred and should not be snuffed out, especially when it comes to abortion.
Joe does not get to walk this line and quite frankly, I am surprised the Catholic Church is not speaking out louder against this.
Pundits on the right pointed out the obvious in this argument.
For instance, American Majority CEO Ned Ryun stated, “Pretty sure God doesn’t want His children murdering viable unborn human beings a[d] nauseam. I know, crazy thought and outside the box thinking on my part but maybe just think about it. . .”
Washington Examiner journalist Jerry Dunleavy added, “Biden says there are ‘rights I have, not because the government gave them to [m]e, but just because I’m a child of God, [because] I exist.’ He makes this argument to support the right to abort unborn children of God which exist.”
The other side of this is that nobody right now is looking at the actual merits of Roe v. Wade, which is what Alito’s argument was based on.
Hell, even the late Justice Ginsburg admitted that the decision to uphold Roe was weak because that case was never about women’s rights but rather the right of doctors to perform a specific procedure.
The more Biden talks, the more foolish he looks and the more he drives conservatives to the voting booths to ensure he is removed from office.
Texas Republican Party chairman Matt Rinaldi put it best, stating, “Having this doddering fool as President is the greatest threat our country has faced in nearly 70 years.”
