When Donald Trump was in office, Bill Maher was just as guilty as everyone else in the “woke” movement.
Today, however, he is singing a different tune.
After four years of riding that bandwagon, he is now blasting the very people he was on board with.
We Are Not the Bad Guys
We have people in our own government that try to make the United States out as the worst place you could ever possibly live.
Rep. Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) seem more like enemy spies than they do representatives of We the People.
Maher does not get a free pass on this because he was just as tainted when Trump was in office.
He sold many of the same narratives, but it now appears as though even he has reached his breaking point.
Maher gave an eye-opening statement this week on his show after seeing the people of Afghanistan try to hold onto a plane, on the outside, to make their way to America.
He stated, “Blind hatred of America is just as blinkered as blind love. And we Americans should really get some perspective about where we live.
“Watching this s— go down in Afghanistan, I was reminded lately of every conversation I’ve ever had with an immigrant, almost all of which if we got to really talking, included the notion, ‘Oh, you people have no idea. All you do is b—- about and badmouth your own country, but if you knew about the country I came from, you’d stop s—-ing on your own.’”
In another blow to the woke movement, he added, “I have never been a rah-rah America type, and in fact, have often made fun of Republicans in the past for being overly sentimental. … But liberals, as usual in this era, have now gone too far in the other direction.”
He also took a shot at Joe Biden regarding the horrific withdrawal plan.
Maher stated, “Why did we pull out the security guard before we got the people out of the disco? It was done horribly.
“It depresses me a lot, like I said, that the adults take over and then they can’t do better than what the children were doing. So, execution, F, absolutely.”
Let’s see how all of that sits with his liberal fan base.
