Phoenix police officers are now under full assault.
Police have finally released the bodycam footage of the ambush that occurred earlier.
The video is disturbing, to say the least, but it is something that everyone needs to see so they know what these officers are up against.
The officer had been called to the residence on reports of a woman being shot.
When the first officer arrived, a man was standing at the door, telling the officer that she was bleeding inside.
The alleged shooter, now identified as Morris Jones, stated, “She’s choking on her own blood! Come on, bro.”
As the officer gets closer, a gun is drawn, and shots are fired.
The officer was struck multiple times in his arm, unable to draw his weapon…
While the first officer retreated, a second officer behind him reportedly returned fire, which led Jones to scramble back inside for cover.
As more officers surrounded the home, another man came out of the house holding a child and placing the baby on the ground.
As officers approached to secure the child, Jones again allegedly opened fire on the officers, hitting more of them in the process.
Ricochets and shrapnel reportedly struck another four officers.
Jones then tried to barricade himself inside the home, but officers hit him with return fire, and he was found dead once they were able to get inside.
While the baby was unharmed, Jones’ girlfriend, Shatifah Lobley, died.
Police precinct commander Derek Elmore stated, “A miracle — that we had that many people actually struck by gunfire and all of them are out of the hospital … less than a week later.”
