All he was doing was trying to help his dad.
In this day and age, getting a teenager to do anything but play video games is a miracle.
For being a good kid, Sean Toomey was murdered.
Toomey is a 15-year-old boy who lives in the Wissinoming neighborhood in Philadelphia.
I know that area well… I grew up just a few miles from the area and played ball against kids from that neighborhood.
That area today hardly resembles what it did when I was growing up, hence why I moved to Texas.
The streets have become killing fields throughout Philadelphia, a sad reality for the Toomey family.
Sean was just retrieving a case of water from the car for his father when shots rang out, a stray bullet hitting the young boy in the head, killing him…
#UPDATE I just got sad news. The family of 15-year-old Sean Toomey tells me he has passed away after getting shot in the head by a stray bullet last Thursday @NBCPhiladelphia https://t.co/a5CJLHGRd4 pic.twitter.com/o15rBnNrtR

His father, John Toomey, stated, “I heard the two pops and I thought it was firecrackers.
“But it only takes a second to grab some water and get in the house and he wasn’t coming back in.
“So I got curious, I put my sweatshirt on, and I went outside and I saw him lying on my neighbor’s lawn.”
Last year, Philadelphia saw 562 homicides, by far the most on record.
The city is on a pace to destroy that record this year.
Philadelphia has been run by Democrats since 1956.
