Another House Democrat with more than a decade of service is choosing to walk away.
Rep. Jackie Speier (D-CA) will not seek re-election in 2022.
Speier has served six terms, and this will be her last.
Leadership Void
With Speier now stepping down, it leaves an even bigger leadership void for Democrats.
Speier released a video on Twitter to break the news…

This opens the door even more for a Republican takeover of Congress.
Every incumbent leaving the Democrat Party is a massive opening for Republicans.
Even if they cannot win the seat, they can put candidates up against the newcomers to make the party spend loads of money for seats they had penciled in as wins.
Every penny spent for these seats is money they will not have to use for the truly contested seats that Republicans have identified as possible flips.
If House Speaker Pelosi (D-CA) were smart, she would add her name to the list of retirees because when this house of cards comes down, the rubble will all be lying at her feet.
