Yet another stain on the NFL shield…
Las Vegas Raiders wideout Henry Ruggs III was reportedly involved in a fatal accident early Monday morning.
Ruggs is now expected to be charged for a DUI resulting in a fatality.
Never Should Have Happened
Why NFL stars continue to drink and drive is baffling.
The league has it set up so all they need to do is make a call and they can have car service.
Not that they need it, as they make enough that springing for an Uber should not really be an issue.
Regardless, Ruggs chose to get behind the wheel, and now someone is dead.
TMZ reported, “On November 2, at approximately 3:39 a.m., the LVMPD responded to a traffic collision near the intersection of South Rainbow Boulevard and South Spring Valley Parkway, involving a Chevrolet Corvette and a Toyota Rav4.
“Responding officers located the Toyota on fire. Fire department personnel responded and located a deceased victim inside the Toyota.
“The preliminary investigation indicated the front of the Chevrolet collided with the rear of the Toyota.
“The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 22-year-old Henry Ruggs III, remained in scene and showed signs of impairment.
“He was transported to UMB Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. Ruggs will be charged with DUI resulting in death.
“This is an on-going investigation.”
Per Nevada laws, if he is convicted on these charges, he faces anywhere from two to 20 years in prison and as much as a $5,000 fine.
Ruggs was a standout player at Alabama, having been drafted by the Raiders in the first found of the 2020 NFL draft.
His amazing future, however, is now on hold, if not ruined completely, and someone else has paid the ultimate price for his ignorance.
