The White House and Joe Biden are pushing the narrative that Biden decreased the federal deficit.
While it is true the deficit recently went down by about $350 billion, the claim itself is misleading.
Of all networks, CNN was the one to call Biden out on the misinformation.
Yes and No
So, if we go back to when Trump was president, we knew his first four years would be filled with spending.
Believe it or not, that was the plan.
At the top of the spending list was rebuilding the military, along with other areas that needed to be addressed.
The plan was to get things caught up, then work on cutting down the budget to reduce the deficit during the second term.
Along came COVID, out went Trump, and in came Joe Biden.
That is important because of Joe Biden’s recent claim that he was responsible for reducing the deficit by $350 billion.
In fact, his administration was set up for an $850 billion reduction in the deficit, so Biden actually cost taxpayers another $500 billion.
CNN reporter Daniel Dale debunked Biden’s claim…
“Almost bizarro world”
It must be a blue moon b/c CNN’s fact-checker @ddale8 is calling out Biden for lying about historic deficit reductions #MoreOfThisPlease pic.twitter.com/GaSU5zb9WB

Dale concluded, “So, when President Biden talks about a projected $1.5 trillion decline in the deficit this year, even if that does happen, the deficit would still be higher this year than initially projected when he took office.”
Biden was set up for success, but he even managed to screw that up.
