The Pennsylvania primary election is finally over.
Donald Trump will be happy to know that Mehmet Oz has given him another huge win.
With the recount just about finished, the margin was too significant for Dave McCormick to overcome, so he has conceded the election.
This is a significant win for Trump in that he took substantial heat for backing Oz right from the beginning.
I was among those that felt that Oz was a bad endorsement largely on the past liberal positions that Oz took before deciding to run for office.
We are not talking about borderline stances either, but he has been in favor of gun control and abortion, just to name a few.
All this will come out during the general election and be used against him.
While Trump winning this primary is good for Trump, it means nothing if Oz goes down in the general election.
McCormick did his part to make sure that does not happen, bowing out of the race with grace.
In conceding the election, he stated, “It’s now clear to me with the recount largely complete, that we have a nominee.
“And today I called Mehmet Oz to congratulate him on his victory.
“And I told him what I always said to you, that I will do my part to try to unite Republicans and Pennsylvanians behind his candidacy, behind his nomination for the Senate.
“It is so important for Pennsylvania, so important that we beat John Fetterman.”
This is one of those times where I hope I am wrong and Oz has seen the light in terms of supporting the conservative stance.
Time will tell and hopefully, he gets the opportunity to serve me a nice plate of crow.
