One of the pillars of being a conservative is fighting government overreach.
For Democrats, it is always about more government in every aspect of everyone’s life.
To that point, a recent statement by HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra is now drawing extreme criticism by the right and even turning a few heads on the left.
Do-Over
First, let’s take a look at the original statement made by Becerra.
During a recent interview, Becerra made no bones about the government getting into your business regarding being vaccinated.
He stated that “it is absolutely the government’s business” to know who has and has not been vaccinated.

There is no misconstruing what he said. Actually, it opens the door for even more government oversight.
By his reasoning, the government would need to be informed on how every penny is spent in every government paycheck, unemployment money, etc.
You can see how far and deep this rabbit hole can go.
Becerra is now trying to backtrack, claiming his comments were taken out of context, but that was not the case at all.
He stated, “To be clear: government has no database tracking who is vaccinated.
“We’re encouraging people to step up to protect themselves, others by getting vaccinated. It’s the best way to save lives and end this pandemic.”
Well, if the government has no database, then what about Joe Biden’s plan to go door-to-door to those that have not been vaccinated yet?
Now, I do not know about you, but it sure seems like this is some very serious Big Brother nonsense.
Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) put it best, stating, “How about don’t knock on my door.
“You’re not my parents. You’re the government. Make the vaccine available, and let people be free to choose. Why is that concept so hard for the left?”
