New York real estate heir Robert Durst has tested positive for COVID-19.
Reports are now breaking that he has been placed on a ventilator after the diagnosis.
Durst, 78, was recently sentenced to life in prison for the 2000 murder of friend Susan Berman.
Life in Prison
Durst, who was only sentenced on Thursday, may have his sentence carried out much sooner than anyone thought.
The New York real estate heir was convicted last month of first-degree murder.
Durst shot and killed Berman just prior to Christmas in 2000.
Berman was about to talk to authorities about the 1982 disappearance of Durst’s first wife, Kathie Durst.
Kathie Durst went missing in New York and her body was never found.
Eventually, she was declared dead, but there were always suspicions surrounding Durst regarding her disappearance.
Clearly, with Durst murdering Burman, he felt authorities were closing in on him.
Due to his health conditions and age, Durst’s life sentence may last less than a month.
