Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) just poked a bear that is going to bring some significant heat.
During a recent campaign event hosted by the Texas Liberty Alliance PAC, Crenshaw called out a significant number of his own party members.
Crenshaw basically called all of the members of the House Freedom Caucus frauds.
Bunch of Grifters
The House Freedom Caucus has some pretty significant names in it.
Among its members are Reps. Mo Brooks of Alabama, Matt Gaetz of Florida, Lauren Boebert of Colorado, Jim Jordan of Ohio, Louie Gohmert of Texas, Paul Gosar of Arizona, and Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia.
The Caucus has been around since 2015 and was a response to Obama’s administration.
Here are his comments…
Wowie! Dan Crenshaw trashes ‘Freedom Caucus’ members Greene, Brooks, Gohmert, Gosar, Jordan, etc, as “performance artists” while defending Kinzinger. “We have grifters in our midst .. lie after lie after lie.” 🍿 pic.twitter.com/hoaGOcOx9s

Crenshaw was already taking heat for voting in favor of a bill that included the creation of vaccine databases to track vaccinations.
This comment will only bring more heat.
Personally, I both agree and disagree with him.
I have stated many times here that we have far too many politicians that work hard to get headlines and don’t really do anything about the very issues the are criticizing publicly.
I also think we have politicians who make idiotic comments that hurt the party’s momentum (see Boebert’s recent comments about Omar).
They don’t seem to get the big picture and they are definitely not reading the room’s temperature correctly.
There are some members of that caucus that I would like to see primaried and replaced by another conservative, but not everyone in that caucus fits Crenshaw’s description.
The one name that sticks out the most to me is Rep. Jordan, who is absolutely loved by Trump supporters.
That name alone could cause Crenshaw some problems with voters.
This is something we will keep an eye on to measure the pushback and whether anyone in the Caucus decides to take on Crenshaw for his comments.
In my opinion, even if he was thinking this and even if he is right about some of those members, he should have addressed this behind the scenes rather than starting a public fight.
This could start a fire in the party that McCarthy will be forced to put out quickly or risk hurting the red wave we are all expecting to see in 2022 and 2024.
