During a recent Senate Foreign Affairs Committee meeting, things got a little heated between Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Chairman Bob Menendez (D-N.J.).
Cruz was in the middle of a sentence when Menendez cut him off.
This led to a rather epic exchange, of which I have to say Cruz got the better of Menendez.
The Battle
Cruz was in the middle of responding to Democrat comments regarding the withholding of $130 million in aid to Egypt.
The money is apparently being held back per a demand to release 16 prisoners on humanitarian grounds.
(Side note: when Trump held back congressionally-approved aid, Democrats lost their minds and wanted to use it against him in impeachment hearings as an abuse of power).
Cruz had just started his reply, stating that the Chair had “observed that, yes, the Biden administration is holding hostage $130 million for Egypt and demanding that 16 people be released from prison.”
Menendez seemed to have misheard what Cruz was saying, and he immediately interrupted.
He stated, “Don’t put words in my mouth that I didn’t say.
“I did not say anybody was holding anyone hostage,”
That, however, is not what Cruz said.
Watch the exchange for yourself and tell me who you think got the best of this…

Cruz’s point was that the administration needs to release the names of the prisoners so that Americans can see who they are, as Cruz clearly believes they are extremists that should remain in prison…
The Biden administration is withholding $130 million for fighting terrorism in Egypt under the condition that Egypt release extremists.
This is both inexplicable and a brazen quid pro quo. pic.twitter.com/C14YohObci

Now, I don’t know about you, but I think I would like to see that list now.
