Rep. Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), during Trump’s presidency, made it a point to have a dramatic visit to border facilities.
We all remember her bent over, sobbing, at the horrors of children being held at border facilities.
She went off the rails about the cages the children were being kept in, but she failed to mention that they were built when Joe Biden and Barack Obama were calling the shots.
Now, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) is demanding she hold Biden just as accountable, inviting her to come down to Texas to visit a facility with “Biden’s cages.”
Cruz Drops the Bomb
AOC has a gift for being selectively outraged.
She has been virtually silent about the problem at the border with Joe Biden in office, yet she lost her mind when Trump was in office.
AOC has sat on her hands the entire time regarding Americans left behind in Afghanistan, yet she literally wept over the passing of funding for the Iron Dome.
She also immediately jumped to conclusions, the wrong conclusions, regarding what happened with Border Patrol agents and Haitian immigrants at the border.
So, Senator Cruz is calling her out on the Senate floor, “Mr. President, every Democrat who stood up and lamented kids in cages, in the House of Representatives, Representative Ocasio-Cortez, has a famous photo of her grasping her head by the kids in cages.
“Well, I’m going to give a simple challenge for Representative Ocasio-Cortez and for every Democrat in this body: Go see the Biden cages with your own eyes.”
Cruz also issued a challenge to Joe Biden, stating, “Why does Joe Biden refuse to go to the Rio Grande Valley? Because if he goes, the TV cameras will come with him.”
Then Kamala Harris, “Why does Kamala Harris, who’s supposed to be the border czar, she’s supposed to be in charge of this, why won’t she go to the Rio Grande Valley?
“Because if she went, the TV cameras would come and would show the Biden cages.”
Cruz is right, of course, and every one of them knows if they go, the cameras will follow, and none of them want the country to see what they are allowing to happen right now.
Rest assured, with the border numbers we are seeing right now, the pictures would be ten times worse than anything we saw when Trump was in office.
