Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) is always fun to watch during hearings.
This week, however, may have been his best yet.
Cruz not only hammered the DOJ but also reported himself to the FBI as a radical right-wing extremist.
Brilliant
First up was the Assistant Attorney General of the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Criminal Division, Kenneth Polite.
Cruz ripped Polite over the fact there have been few prosecutions related to laws broken in attacks against pro-life centers and our Supreme Court justices.
He stated, “I have zero doubt that if pro-life supporters were vandalizing and firebombing abortion clinics across the country, DOJ would declare it a national emergency, and you might as well send out the National Guard.
“But because your politics and the politics of the agency you work with happen to agree with the vandals, there has been no task force, there has been no priority. Why is that?”
After a lame response, Cruz fired away about the justices, stating, “Night, after night, after night, these protesters committed federal crimes on national television. Why has the Department of Justice refused to enforce 18 U.S.C. § 1507?”
Polite responded that they had arrested one person, and Cruz just about fell out of his chair, stating, “So one person?”
Cruz concluded, “Well, I think you need to follow the law.”
That was just the warmup act, however.
When Cruz had FBI Director Wray in the hot seat, he unleashed on him regarding the new guidelines for domestic terror symbols.
He even turned himself in to the FBI for his boots!
This is epic…
Ted Cruz grills Dir. Wray over FBI training material listing patriotic flags as militia violent extremism.
"What are y'all doing? Do you agree w/ this FBI guidance that the Betsy Ross flag and the Gadsden flag and the Gonzales battle flag are signs of militia violent extremism?" pic.twitter.com/g6UZiiJbft

I think it is safe to say that the FBI has lost its way.
