Dana Perino Announces Death of ‘America’s Dog’ Jasper

For those of you that follow Dana Perino, she has suffered a loss this week.

Perino’s dog, Jasper, who had a large social media following of his own, has passed away.

Sadly, Jasper was only nine but fell victim to rapidly moving cancer throughout his body.

Sad Day

As an animal lover myself, I can totally empathize with the loss Perino is suffering through right now.

These animals become just as much a part of the family, oftentimes more so, than actual humans.

They don’t judge, they don’t walk away, they just sit there, and their mere presence makes you feel better about whatever you are going through at the time.

Jasper was a rock for Perino, who often shared pictures of their adventures on social media.

Perino, on Saturday, broke the news, stating, “It is its deep sadness that I have to let you all know that Jasper passed away today.”

On Instagram, she added, “A fast-spreading cancer caused him to leave us sooner than we’d ever hoped. We got to send him off – talking about all the fishing he can do in Heaven.”

Jasper was a regular on Fox News with Perino, as well as the subject of a book she wrote, “Let Me Tell You about Jasper: How My Best Friend Became America’s Dog.”

Rest in peace, Jasper…

  1. So sorry for your loss Dana. He is smiling at you from heaven and
he knows you. were his best friend and always will be. Tears are
streaming down my face now. God has plans for our animals and
us as humans. Hard to digest the reasoning, but he is fine now and
with GOD.You know that GOD spelled backward is Dog. Bless you
for all the love you have given him.

    1. I know how it feels. I lost my dear dog last year due too cancer. She was 16 and was in my life for 12 of those years. I miss her deeply and I still keep her little bed where she slept next to my bed. At times I feel her presence. I pray to God that I may one day see her again running towards me like she always use too do.

  2. My thoughts and prayers are with Jasper and Dana. I have had pets (dogs) for many years and have seen them come and go also. They are every bit as much family as the other members of your clan. All they do is give and hopefully we make certain they receive since they are not long with us. I always liked the thought that God spelled backwards is Dog. It reminds one of something they offer us unconditionally, LOVE kike no other. We lost our last dog, a Pug which lived to be 13 years old to Cancer. No easy way to face that as they certainly don’t deserve such a fate, but such is life as we know it. I like to think that we will have the opportunity to spend eternity with these beings that mean so much to us.

  3. God Bless Jasper and your family, Dana. He was a much-loved dog by you and your husband. You will see him again in heaven.

  4. God bless you and know that Jasper is in Heaven fishing fervently. May God heat you peace and love and amazing memories. My heart breaks for you!❤️
