Over the last two years, New York City has seen rising crime rates that have residents terrified.
With little more than a month left in office, Mayor de Blasio continues to leave behind some presents that will put New Yorkers at even more risk.
For instance, he has all but legalized illegal drug use by approving supervised drug centers in the city.
That’s Against the Law
Democrats have this new idea that when you legalize illegal activity, it makes the city safer.
If any of you ever watched “The Wire,” it would seem like that is where de Blasio is getting his advice these days.
Much like the creation of Amsterdam in “The Wire,” de Blasio has created safe zones for drugs in the city.
This was the exact type of safe zone that the Trump administration had sued Philadelphia to prevent.
De Blasio is dressing them up, calling them “Overdose Prevention Centers,” but it is nothing more than drug use centers where junkies can shoot up and not be bothered by police.
Rep. Malliotakis (R-N.Y.) stated, “This is a violation of federal law.
“It is something that the Trump administration actually took Philadelphia to court over and won that lawsuit, and we’re asking that this DOJ do the same thing, uphold our laws and stop this from happening.”
She continued, “The mayor at every turn when he tries to address something, he only makes the problems worse and then he tries to introduce new policies to address those problems he created and worsens the situation.
“It’s unfortunate that with just a few days left in his administration, he continues to put policies that the people of New York do not want.
“It’s just one parting gift after another for this mayor.”
In “The Wire,” everyone lost their jobs when they found out what was happening.
Sadly, de Blasio will probably be applauded for this mess.
