Deputy Dallas Edeburn left the office on Sunday but never made it back home.
When family members reported him missing, a search ensued.
Officers later found Edeburn still in his vehicle, dead.
What Happened?
Edeburn appeared to be on his usual route from the office to his home at the time of his death.
When officers discovered him, they stated that there were no obvious signs of foul play.
The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office stated, “A preliminary autopsy showed no signs of injury or trauma.
“The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the manner and cause of death when the autopsy has been completed.”
The statement continued, “Deputy Dallas Edeburn served the citizens of Ramsey County with distinction and great dedication for seven years.
“He has received numerous accolades for his tremendous police work, heroic efforts during SWAT operations, and his work to rescue a suicidal young woman who was going to jump from a freeway bridge.”
If the name sounds familiar, it may be from a 2021 story regarding Edeburn.
He was hit by a suspect driving a stolen vehicle at a very high speed, wrecking the vehicle and leaving Edeburn with severe injuries.
He rehabbed his way back and had returned to full active duty.
He survived that tragedy only to mysteriously lose his life.
Edeburn is survived by his wife and child.
