Florida Democrats Push Back Over FARC Terrorist Designation

Earlier this week, it was announced that FARC, a rebel terrorist organization in Columbia, will no longer be designated as a terrorist organization by this administration.

The move immediately drew the ire of Republicans, especially those with skin in the game, such as Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL).

That was not surprising, but now that Florida Democrats are also pushing back, Joe Biden has yet another internal party conflict to resolve.

Don’t Do It, Joe

There is no state where this decision will hit home more than Florida.

There are a reported 150,000 Columbian voters in Florida who know the atrocities of FARC.

The group has reportedly been responsible for thousands of kidnappings and executions over the years, so it is understandable why even Democrats in Florida do not see this as a wise decision.

However, it is a bit of a surprise to see how outspoken they are being about it.

For instance, State Senator Annette Taddeo stated, “This is terrible. It’s bad policy. It’s bad politics.

“These were terrorists, murderers.”

She also sent out a tweet criticizing the move…

Eduardo Gamarra, who polls Latino voters in the United States and throughout Latin America, added, “There are people in this community who were either kidnapped or had relatives who were kidnapped — while some of the people responsible [former FARC rebels] are now sitting in the Colombian Congress.”

Of course, Governor Ron DeSantis also blasted Biden for this move, stating, “Biden’s policy is an insult to members of the Colombian American community, many of whom fled that terrorist group’s barbaric attacks on civilians.

“My administration stands squarely on the side of the millions of Floridians who want democracy, peace and freedom to endure in Colombia and against Joe Biden’s Castrochavista allies.”

Biden is just making this too easy for Republicans.

This administration just keeps cowering to the far left, and in the process, it continues to alienate the voters it needs the most.

Joe Biden is already losing support among African American voters and now he is alienating Latino voters.

Keep going, Joe, because you are making a red tsunami in 2022 and 2024 a virtual certainty.
