DeSantis Challenger Slammed After ‘Hitler’ Statement

This week, the Florida agriculture commissioner and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Nikki Fried made a big mistake.

Democrats have become very liberal with equating Republicans to Nazis and Adolph Hitler.

So, Fried surely thought she could work the magic again, throwing those exact allegations at DeSantis, only it did not work out too well for her.

Not Smart

Fried, in her interview, stated, “Instead of listening and trying to govern with the people, he is trying to govern over the people, and, you know, that, I’m sorry, I’m a student of history, too. I saw the rise of Hitler.”

The interviewer then asked Fried if she was trying to compare DeSantis to Hitler, and she responded, “In a lot of ways, yes.”

When Fried was asked if this comparison was offensive, she doubled down, stating, “Not at all, I mean look, do I think that we are going to get to the extent of Hitler’s power?

“Of course not, but the rise of his power and what he did to scapegoat certain parts and certainly the Jewish community in Germany and how he utilized going after the media, going after and scapegoating people and blaming people and putting fear and taking over the military.

“That’s what this governor is doing.”

This is both dangerous and outrageous.

To that point, DeSantis Press Secretary Christina Pushaw immediately struck back.

She stated, “Nikki Fried’s claim that Governor DeSantis is a modern-day Hitler is as offensive as it is absurd.

“With this hysterical comparison, Fried not only smears millions of Floridians as Nazis, but also trivializes Hitler’s crimes against humanity.”

The primary in Florida is scheduled for August, where Fried will face off against former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist.

If she gets past the primary, expect a lot more of this divisive rhetoric to continue.
