On Tuesday night, Joe Biden wanted to batten down the hatches for his State of the Union Address.
As such, Biden reportedly requested governors help send troops to DC to defend the Capitol against crazy right-wingers that might protest his speech.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis filed the request appropriately… in his shredder.
Sorry, Joe, But It’s a No for Me
Last week, it was reported that 700 National Guard troops would be activated ahead of the SOTU address.
NBC Washington reported that in addition to DC troops, 300 total troops would be heading to DC from other states.
When that request came to DeSantis, he declined…
Last week, the Biden Administration requested the assistance of State National Guards to deploy to Washington D.C. I have rejected this request — there will be no @FLGuard sent to D.C. for Biden’s State of the Union.

Additionally, the mask mandate was lifted at the Capitol for those that have their “papers” in order…

Let’s be clear about this… it is all for optics.
There is zero reason to believe the trucker convoy protest will have any violence associated with it.
As far as the mask mandate is concerned, Pelosi and company can hardly claim that Biden has beaten back COVID if the chamber is masked.
So, they kill two birds with one stone with these orders, all to benefit the Democrat Party and Joe Biden.
And, with DeSantis’ refusal to send Guard troops, they can portray him as an enemy of the state and, to use the favorite phrase of Democrats right now, “has put our Democracy at risk.”
Did you watch Joe Biden’s SOTU address? If so, tell us what you think.
